Any Asanas for stopping hair fall or to increase hair growth?
One of our facebook friends asked this question and received the following replies - do you have any other advice besides the following?

Chetankumar: Hair growth is directly propotional to blood speed and sweating.Kapalabhati n chakrasana helps in natural n speedy blood flow. Running and jogging exersizes ,do help in sweating which in turn remove microdirt in da root s of hairs thus letti...ng it get more required nutrition .

Lakshmi: always use mild shaampoos followd by d usage of a good conditioner...
vnevr u get time ..go for gud oil massage....and use henna once a month atmost..

Lalita: helllo, do forward bending asanas like bhushirasana, shashankasana, vajrasanastha sulabha yoga mudra regularly. And more above dat increase calcium intake, and use karaja tel(oil) for massage.


Kari: Hi Lalita, what is Karaja in english? I looked on google but couldn't find a translation...


Carolyn: I believe that any inversion would increase blood supply to scalp and more importantly the thyroid and could improve the hair growth and overall health.


Keerthana: are you hormones ok?
take more green vegs and protein, be regular on yoga and pranayamas


Mita: even have aleo vera gel in hair...massage n wash......or even shoe flower gel it works,....n oiling is necessary with warm meti seeds


Harte: Headstand and shoulderstand because they reverse the Blood Flow and thus supply Blood to Follicles...
+ In [amla + Brahmi + moth + rajwanti] powder mix yogurt leave it for 30 minutes then put it on your hair for 30-45 minutes, wash it without shampoo apply it for 2-3 times a month with 4 months you ill see the changes...apart from that eat Amla candies in morning and dont eat anything after that for 1 hour...within 2 months Hair fall will eventually stop...


Ramesh: i agree with Harte ... stop eating junk food....kapalbhati is good.....proper nutrition important....eat more vegetable protein like pulses.addition to Harte



Natasha: increase hair growth is by stimulation of hair roots .hair fall is because the new hair growth is less than the dead hair fall . when that happens you loose hair .
So you have to keep the scalp clean and pores clean there .
Overshampoo is... very bad . Best is to use Gramflour which is filtered and also massage the scalp .
then you could use coconut water or coconut and water mixture (take coconut and wter put in mixie and grid for two mins ) and use during bathing . No need for hair oil .
this best for luster and strenght . Some use this after cracking an egg over the head and using as a shampoo for protein in hair . Note this egg cracking on head gives a bad smell which can last for hours so go slow on the eggs . use every two weeks instead of the shampoo.....
whether asanaas can help i dont know but shir asaana is good as is shavaasana ... note : hair fall is also a mental thing .so any asaana which is a tension reliever is always helpful ..
talking of hair colour .for greying hair most use hair color which is bad .Instead just boil tea water and apply over the hair . instead of colouring the hair . It will blacken the hair . Hair colour(dye) is bad for the hair .mkes them brittle and worsens the roots also ..

Gregg: Doing Asanas will allow your mind to allow the hair to fall out and to enjoy that it is life. It could be a Kidney weakness, there are Kalpas that can reverse every disorder in humans. Embrance the change.
