my question is about yoga nidra TM practice, and if there is any contra-indication in this yoga practice?

Swami Vishnu said any Yoga practice should feel pleasureable without Pain. If there is pain you are doing something wrong.

Namaste, Yoga Nidra dealswith the inner recesses of mind, emotions etc. It is good to have some expereince in meditation and concentration. Once the body becomes relaxed advanced practices of yoga nidra then focus on various aspcts of mind and consciousness. It can be somewhat like dreaming. Once in awhile an inner vision may be troubling or we can drop into a samadhi state and be startled, or repressed emotions may surface etc. Some people drift off into a deep sleep and wont wake up for along time. The best book on yoga nidra i found is by Swami Satyananda Sarasawati of Bijar School of Yoga and also a desciple of Swami Sivananda. Yoga Nidra can be used for two things generally, one is to allow deep relaxation and then to reach samadhi. There are many other aspects of yoga nidra.

i have been told that some people found problems in yoganidra so.. , dharana and dhyana practice should help them, i have been reading yoganidra book of swami satyananda too :)

for me this is a little bit unspecific, if I do not know what it is about, I cannot write anything about it.

my doubt was, if a person with an experience of a panic attack can do yoganidra?
i am talking about a yoga beginner...

Dear Miguel,

i cannot say yes or no, (s)he should or shouldn't do yoga nidra.
the only thing i know is that there are certain contraindications, when you really should not do other 'relaxation traininings' such as autogene training or progressive muscle relaxation
These contraindications are:
Suffering psychotical attaques;
Borderline disorders;
Eventually Post Traumatic Stress Disorders;
Eventually Anancastic Syndrome.

If this person feels panic attaques arising, i would recommend to tell here that she can open here eyes and that she can quit and or leave whenever she wants to (thats a freedom of choice i think always should be given)

yoga nidra is an excellent relaxation technique. it should be done in a calm,neat windy atmosphere.i suggest in the morning and evenings are best.

no, there is nothing contra in this practice. bet carefully return from the deep state is important. otherwise all are done in this practice. Om shanthi.
