Reasons why babies are natural yogis

If you observe a baby, from the time it is born to the age of three, it does all the yoga postures. You only need keen observation to recognize this, not a yoga instructor. When a baby is born, it is born in a particular mudra, which is called Aadi mudra (thumb tucked into palm and other fingers wrapped into a fist) in the science of yogic texts. When babies sleep, if you notice, they sleep with their hands in Chin mudra (tip of thumb and fore finger touching and other fingers are extended),…See More

"God has become all that you see. It is like a bel fruit, which consists of three parts: seeds, shell, and flesh. That which is the Absolute has also its relative aspect, and that which is the Relative has also its absolute aspect. You cannot set aside the Absolute and understand just the Relative. Andit is only because there is the Relative that you can transcend it step by step and reach the Absolute."Sri Ramakrishna 18 October 1885"It is God alone who has become all that I see. Pranayama

Few words of Swami TapovanamPranayama, practised without a spirit of dispassion, is just like the control of breath practised by fishermen while diving into the sea to catch fish.It is impossible to exhause desires through enjoyment. So the only way to overcome them is through right thinking. To appear fresh every second is the true nature of beauty. He is a Mahatma who keeps the tongue, word and the mind perfectly under control and patiently withstands all provocations.Who can escape scalding if…See More

My Favorite Quote/What inspires me:
Enlightenment is a process of unlearning.............

God is the subject of experience not the object of experience.

Maya does not exist from the standpoint of Reality.Maya is only an explanation of creation given by those who hold creation to be a fact. None (is) in bondage, none liberated, this is the ultimate truth. Yogis look upon mind as separate from Atman, that they seek to control it in Samadhi. But Gaudapada says that the mind is the non-dual Atman. Therefore there does not arise any question of controlling it. The mind and its activities are nothing but the non-dual Brahman, ever pure, ever free and ever illumined. It is only due to ignorance that one perceives the duality of the subject-object relationship in the activities of the mind. But a knower of truth perceives everywhere and in all activities only the non-dual Brahman.

Witness-Consciousness

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 12:00pm 0 Comments

The ego is the patron, the sense objects the audience, the intellect the dancer, the sense organs musicians playing on their instruments; and the lamp illumining them all is the witness-consiousness.
(Panchadasi, 10.14)

As a lamp reveals all objects while remaining in its own place, so does the witness-consciousness, itself ever motionless, illumine the objects with and without(including the workings of the mind).
(Panchadasi, 10.15)

A verse on Shiva

Posted on December 20, 2009 at 4:30pm 0 Comments

"Samsara roga haram aushadham adwiteeyam pratar bhajami shivamekam anantham aadyam" - a verse on Shiva.

I now worship that endless principle of consciousness, that by its undivided nature, is the medicine that destroys the disease of birth and death.
