Without trust the world can be a lonely and scary place. If we don't trust others, if we feel that others are not trustworthy and don't feel confident in trusting our own abilities to look after ourselves we can feel isolated and alone. So balancing the need to manage the risks associated with developing trusting relationships with the capacity to reach out and be trustworthy and trust others is key to self care.
