Vairagya, Dispassion

Dull Vairagya will not help you in attaining perfection in Yoga. You must have Para Vairagya or Theevra Vairagya, intense dispassion.

Continue

In Indian philosophy, your body is made up of five elements, with each of your five fingers representing one of these elements:

Thumb: fire, sun, radiant matter, heat, light – the energy that drives all other matter

Index finger: air, wind, matter in gaseous form

Middle finger: sky, space, akasha ether

Ring finger: earth, matter in solid form

Little finger: water, matter in liquid form

Most mudras are formed by using your thumb (fire) to lightly stimulate one… Continue

Concentrate on the Third Eye

Concentrate on Trikuti (the space between the two eyebrows) with closed eyes. This is the best spot for concentration. The mind can be easily controlled, as this is the seat for the mind.

Do We Have To Go Beyond 'I'?

Many of the relationship-journo, writers and experts have taken up the timely topic of as to whether we have the need to go beyond the 'I' or not...Let me however add here that the use of small 'i' doesn't necessarily reflect absence of unreasonable egoism in the user...Each word has 2 meanings: What it denotes and what it connotes...A person may use small 'i' and still can be fully 'unreasonably' egoist from deep within...So, it is not much the externalities that matter, but the internalities… Continue

Continue

States of the Mind

The mind passes into many conditions or states as it is made up of three qualities—Sattva, Rajas and Tamas.  Kshipta (wandering), Vikshipta (gathering), Mudha (ignorant), Ekagra (one-pointed), and Nirodha (contrary) are the five states of the mind.

Continue
