The pets have a special way to interact with people, especially certain breeds of dogs that are characterized by having a friendly personality and responsive. This is precisely what happens in the treatment of autistic children zootherapy where children benefit from contact with dogs.
The effects of the zootherapy are varied and very effective not only for children with autism but for children with developmental delay, developmental disorders, Down syndrome and children with emotional blocks.
The animals are trained to perform different programs depending on the objectives which are sought for each patient. The zootherapy been successfully used to improve physical and motor skills, the ability to a wheelchair, to lower blood pressure and others.
But the biggest benefits of zootherapy mental level are obtained. It is good to increase communication, self-care as well as to reduce anxiety and feelings of loneliness.
The animals are carefully selected and trained from three months to enjoy human company and mainly interact with the children through games. It is amazing how both the dog and the boy, eagerly await the moment of encounter.
It is proven that having a pet is good for health, this is reinforced at a meeting of zootherapy. Pets inspire good mood and are a source of joy and surprises. With just caress it has a comforting and relaxing feeling. It also relieves stress, raise self-esteem and offers peace and quiet.
So it is also advisable to have a pet at home. Which, although not a dog trained to zootherapy, also make us good for our mental health.
