First of all, I want to thank the Yoga Vidya team for all their work and efforts to share world wide the precious knowledge of Yoga.
As the title says I'm just a beginner, so there's not much I can tell about the practice, but I really want to share what I learned so far, starting with the fact that I'm really happy to have Yoga in my life.
It all began like 5 years ago, when I enter the Art University at Xalapa Veracruz, it was a clean start, meeting new people, new places,…

Had a bit of a rough start this Monday, but pressing forward! My goal for this week is still the same for now. Keeping positive and progressing forward. In a couple more weeks I'm gonna start keeping tabs on weight gain or loss but for now just trying to get my body and mind back into the condition it should be in. It feels really good to notice even the smallest of changes from week to end and/or week to week. It truly is the little things sometimes. I look forward to this week and this…

Ever wished you could go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow with absolutely no baggage?
Nothing weighing you down, nothing holding you back, and no negative thoughts entering your mind?
It'd be a relief.

Though its been kind of a long week and Ive had some struggles its been a great week. I am very proud of myself for sticking with my routine this week. My body and mind feel a bit better, less aches, more relaxing and just a little stronger. I really am enjoying the videos that have been suggested for beginning. The first 2 is where I am at, they are very detailed and relaxing, although I do have to watch them on youtube if I want to expand them to my whole screen. Still its a great way to…

THE NEED FOR A GURU
Only the man who has already been to Badrinath will be able to tell you the road leading to it.
In the case of the spiritual path, it is still more difficult to find your way.
The mind will mislead you very often.
The Guru will be able to remove pitfalls and obstacles, and lead you along the right path.
He will tell you: “This road leads you to Moksha; this one leads to bondage.”
Without this guidance, you might want to go to Badrinath,…

THE SATGURU
He gives you the rope of knowledge and saves you when you are drowning in this ocean of Samsara.
Do not consider him to be only a man.
If you take him as a man, you are a beast.
Worship your Guru and bow to him with reverence.
Guru is God.
A word from him is a word from God.
He need not teach anything.
Even his presence or company is elevating, inspiring and stirring.
The very company itself is self-illumination.
Living…

On the subject of "Sadhana" - Swami Sivananda
"Act now. Live now. Know now. Realize now. Be happy now.
Every death is a reminder. Every bell that rings says, "The end is near". Every day robs off from you one part of your precious life. Therefore, you should be very earnest in plunging yourself in constant Sadhana.…

right and wrong
'right' and 'wrong' are relative terms.
they vary according to time, special circumstances, varna - caste, and asrama - stage of life.
morality is a changing and relative term.
the passionate man who molests his wife frequently, to gratify his own passion, is more immoral than man who visits the house of a woman of ill-fame once in six months.
the man who dwells constantly on immoral thoughts, is the most immoral man of all.
do you clearly…
