A sinus infection can cause a headache or pressure in the eyes, nose, cheek area, or on one side of the head. Newer classifications of sinusitis refer to it as rhino sinusitis. A person with a sinus infection may also have cough, fever, bad breath, and nasal congestion with thick nasal secretions. Sinusitis is categorized as acute (sudden onset) or chronic (long term, the most common type).

Symptoms of acute sinusitis in adults usually follow a cold that does not improve, or one that worsens after 5 – 7 days of symptoms. Symptoms include:
Bad breath or loss of smell.
Cough, often worse at night.
Fatigue and generally not feeling well.
Fever, headache – pressure-like pain, pain behind the eyes, toothache, or facial tenderness.
Nasal congestion and discharge.
Sore throat and postnasal drip
Symptoms of chronic sinusitis are the same as those of acute sinusitis, but tend to be milder and last longer than 8 weeks.

Here are some natural cures for Sinus:
Regularly inhaling steam will relief the drainage secretion.
Body requires plenty of liquids to increase its moisture level. Drink lot of liquid food, such as water, vitamin-rich fruit drinks etc.
Also drink some honey and lemon dissolved in hot water or herbal tea as an alternative to normal tea.
Water is essential at all times, but drinking water throughout the day and mostly before bed seems to keep your sinuses in check and clear throughout the night into the early morning.
Rub eucalyptus oil, rosemary, and lemongrass (natural essences/oils). It is so heart breaking to give up on your favourite stilettos on the most happening night out of the month, and equally tormenting to cut short on the most invigorating, thrilling and refreshing morning jog or nature’s trail, just because you have the most annoying foot ache or is it a Heel pain?! Whatever! You’d rather give up running around office or chasing the kids through the day!
Heel pain, whether caused by Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spurs or other types affect 60% of individuals in the entire lifetime. Along the bottom of your foot is a thick tissue called the “Plantar Fascia”. When it becomes inflamed due to overuse or walking on uneven grounds especially in old shoes, then it becomes inflamed. This problem can keep you off the trail for days, weeks or months.
There are several ways to alleviate this pain that are offered globally, but one great way is to learn how to (create healing) for yourself by knowing what to do with your body. The historic mental discipline known as yoga has become an extremely popular form of exercise today when it comes to self-healing.
Another reason many people choose to turn to yoga for relief from their heel pain is because traditional remedies do not work for them. This is often the case with many women. In many instances, their heel pain is a result of the shoes they wear. Doing away with their fashionable footwear or using inserts in stilettos is never an option for them; hence they turn to yoga as a better option and experience relief.
Also, these yoga stretches can still be performed at a time of convenience in the comfort of your own home. Yoga foot exercises help the calf muscles and Achilles tendon to remain lose and relaxed and also help strengthen weaker muscles of the feet. The yoga asanas focus on releasing energy in the joints of the feet in an effort to release stress and toxins from the feet. They are safe and effective and can help relieve your heel pain.
Some of the Asanas that can help heal the heel are:
Adho mukha Svanasana – Downward Dog pose
Come onto your fours. Form a table such that your back forms the table top and your hands and feet form the legs of the table.
As you breathe out lift the hips up, straightening the knees and elbows, form an inverted V-shape with the body.
Hands are shoulder width apart; feet are hip width apart and parallel to each other. Toes point straight ahead.
Press your hands into the ground. Widen through the shoulder blades. Keep the neck lengthened by touching the ears to the inner arms.
Hold the downward dog pose and take long deep breaths. Look towards the navel.
Exhale. Bend the knees, return to table pose. Relax
Did you know?
The heel bone is the largest bone in the foot and absorbs the most amounts of shock and pressure. A heel spur develops as an abnormal growth of the heel bone. Heel spurs can cause extreme pain in the rear foot, especially while standing or walking.
Vajrasana – Thunderbolt pose
Kneel down with your knees touching each other.
Sit in the cavity formed by your feet. Do not sit on the heels.
Place your hands on your thighs with palms facing upwards.
Keep your spine erect and head straight.
Apart from these, Bandhakonasana (Butterfly Pose), Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Virbhadrasana (warrior pose) are a few more poses which are beneficial in strengthening foot muscles.
You could also try the following home remedies to help you ease the pain:
Tennis Ball wonder: Roll a tennis ball under you foot daily. This stretches the fascia and can help the scar tissue line up correctly.
Stretch to a stronger you!: At the beginning and end of the day, take the time to stretch out your calf muscles. Hold stretch for about 30 seconds but don’t hold your breath. Breath is vital to the healing process.
Happy Feet: Assess your shoes to determine if you need to change your footwear. No bare feet!
Ayurveda and Yoga go hand in hand: Lastly, don’t forget that yoga exercises will benefit anyone that may be suffering from plantar fasciitis. In addition to your yoga routine, ayurveda can be a great supplement to the treatment methods Ayurveda has come a long way since its inception and off lately it you have seen ayurveda centres mushrooming all over.
Source: Shri Shri Ravi shankar Yoga. From following the essential routine of cleansing, toning and moisturizing to maintaing a healthy diet, expert suggests various tips of taking care of yourself in the hot and humid weather.
Doctor Sangeeta Velaskar, vice president and head, Medical Services and R&D, Kaya Skin Clinic, recommends a few tips for a carefree and skin friendly summer:
* Screen the sun: Zero down on a sunscreen that best meets your requirements and contains sun protection factor (SPF). SPF 30 is best recommended for Indian skin types. Apply sun screen 20 to 30 minutes before stepping out and ensure you wear sunscreen every day, even when you stay indoors.
* Follow the essential routine: Follow the cleansing, toning and moisturising ritual twice a day for best results. Summers are most nightmarish time for skin issues, specially acne. To keep your skin acne-free use a cleanser which contains salicylic acid and helps reduce acne and prevent future breakouts.
* Exfoliate: Incorporating exfoliation into your skin care regime is a must to avoid dull skin! Exfoliates remove old, dry, dead skin cells, toxins and other deposits and allow new skin cells to surface. Scrub your elbows and knees at least twice a week to get rid of dead tissues. Rub a slice of lemon with sugar every alternate day to keep them clean and to remove tan.
* Hair woes: Since hair tends to be moisture-deprived during summers, overuse of any kind of chemical and hair styling tool should be avoided. Shampooing often results in loss of shine and moisture. Consider switching to a gentle shampoo and use a deep conditioner to replenish the loss of moisture. Massage your hair with a mixture of coconut oil, castor and olive oil regularly to keep your hair nourished.
* Happy Feet: Start with wearing an open sandal in the summer to keep your feet dry and give them a chance to “breathe”. Your feet are subject to sunburn just like the rest of your body. Use sunscreen during the day and during the evenings apply a lightweight moisturizer.
* Maintain a healthy diet: With summers in full swing, it is advised that apart from drinking lots of water, a special summer diet consisting of light and healthy food would ensure a cool mind and body. To keep your skin hydrated, eat lot of fresh fruits and green vegetables. Include fruits and vegetables like bitter gourd, spinach, cucumber, watermelons, oranges, cherries, plums and lychee to your diet.Source: IANS To know more visit www.yogagurusuneelsingh.com

Healthy Heart Sutrahttps://my.yoga-vidya.org/profiles/blogs/healthy-heart-sutra-12015-04-05T07:40:23.000Z2015-04-05T07:40:23.000Zyoga guru suneel singhhttps://my.yoga-vidya.org/members/yogagurusuneelsingh

Heart disease may be a leading cause of death, but that doesn’t mean you have to accept it as your fate. The human prostate is about the size and shape of a walnut.

Last year men were diagnosed with prostate cancer are more in numbers than lung, colon, and brain cancers combined. These are grim statistics, but there’s reason to be optimistic.

Diet and lifestyle modifications have also been shown to reduce the risk of prostate cancer development and progression, and can help men with prostate cancer live longer and better lives.

Cut down on meat
Prostate cancer is a hormone based disease may be strongly linked to the consumption of meat which contains higher levels of hormone-disrupting chemicals. Try to eat meat no more than three times a week. It’s best to eat white meat, and lean cuts of red meat with equal portions of fish.

Move it
Exercise reduces the risk of fatal forms of prostate cancer by 41 percent. The power of exercise, though known to be beneficial in boosting the body’s immune system, is still largely uncertain. What’s more, among survivors of prostate cancer, those who exercised vigorously like playing tennis, running, swimming, or biking had a lower risk of death from the disease.

Give your gland a regular workout
Have lots of sex or start masturbating to prevent prostate cancer. Studies have indeed suggested that masturbation protects against prostate cancer. Actually, it was ejaculation, achieved by either sex or masturbation, that showed benefit. It allows the prostate to clear itself of carcinogens. In other words, masturbation may literally clean your pipes.

Eat more fruit
Eat five to nine daily servings of organic fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat plenty of rich red tomato sauces. Try to include soya in your diet – soya milk, tofu or soya or yoghurts. These are all high in antioxidants, which protect our cells against the damaging effects of free radicals and can help prevent cancers.

Go green
Regularly eating broccoli may lower your risk of prostate cancer and heart disease. It’s likely that compounds found in broccoli, called isothiocyanates, can activate genes that disturb the chemical processes that may cause cancer and inflammation.

Relax and enjoy life
Reducing stress in the workplace and home will improve your survivor ship and lead to a longer, happier life.

Avoid smoking for many reasons. Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all.
Seek medical treatment for stress, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and depression. Treating these conditions may save your life and will improve your survivor ship with prostate cancer.
