Absence of any anticorona-19 vaccine or drug has made the job of medics all the more virtually impossible. Yet, these brave warriors are waging a gallant battle against Corona-19 virus and saving lives of almost two-thirds of its victims by using trial and error methods of medication.
Science of Corona-19 virus is in nascent stage and slowly evolving.
After having perused several reports about fight against Corona-19 virus in last 46 days; and glancing at basic elementary knowledge of human body such as blood vessels, blood, proteins, etc, it has dawned upon me that we can treat Covid-19 patients with a still higher success rate if we make wise use of our elementary knowledge while deciding to explore/prescribe medication that would have higher possibility of saving the Covid-19 patients.
The doctor attending to Covid-19 patient must factor in various visible and invisible symptoms and then use a wise combination of anti inflammatories, antihistamines, anticoagulants, and antibiotics, etc, to treat the patient.
The doctor must find out whether any or combination of following conditions exist in the patient: Hemmorhage,Hematoma, Leukemia, Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma, Anemia, Hemolytic anemia, Hemochromatosis, Sickle cell disease, Bacteremia, Malaria, Thrombosis, Thrombocytopenia, Leukopenia, Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, Hemophilia,Hypercoaguable state, Polycythemia, Deep venous thrombosis, Myocardial Infarction.
Use your Uncommon-Common sense to correlate possible causes and effects.
For example: if you observe that the patient is becoming breathless, it may also be due to lessened oxygen supply caused by coagulation of blood in blood vessels. It's a known fact that the smoothness of blood vessels ensure there is no clotting. Clotting indicates possible inflammation of blood vessels due to deposition/creation of an excess number of copies of Corona-19 virus/protein.
Therefore, you may take a chance to save the patient by injecting anticoagulants/medicines such as Heparin, enoxaparin (Lovenox), and Warfarin (Coumadin).
If you notice the patient to be susceptible to heart attack and/or stroke, you may decide to administer antiplatelete drugs such as: Aspirin, and Clopidogret (Plavix), etc.
Use antibiotics and antihistamines to treat Covid-19 patients who are already suffering from sneezing, influenza, pneumonia, sore throat.
It's by now observed that the Corona-19 virus adversely affects supply of oxygen in the body which means it adversely affects supply of red blood cells that are responsible for carrying Oxygen to tissues. This happens due to several effects of Corona-19 virus such as constriction of blood vessels.
Less or severely reduced supply of Oxygen can cause fatigue and breathlessness symptoms which are prominent in many Covid-19 patients. As pointed earlier, this reduced Oxygen supply indicates possibility of Corona-19 virus having inflammed/constricted blood vessels. Therefore, you may take a chance to revive such patients by injecting anticoagulant/antiplateletes.
It's seen that the Corona-19 virus has caused more deaths of those who already had underlying conditions/weak health such as obesity. Obesity is related with diabetes and heart attacks.
Administer to these patients the already existing FDA-approved drugs/injections meant for such underlying conditions.
If underlying conditions are overcome with use of corresponding medication, the Corona-19 virus doesn't have much chance to kill the patient and consequently the patient may survive.
The whole point is: The doctor must remain calm and use basic elementary knowledge of functioning of human body to understand correctly the patient's medical conditions and then determine any/combination of drugs to treat her/him. This practical approach based on Uncommon-Common Sense can help doctors save many more lives compared to what they are able to save now.
Corona-19 virus has so far avoided a successful scrutiny by scientific community.
It has been showing inconsistent and unpredictable behaviour.
List of body parts affected by it is becoming bigger - lungs, blood vessels, nerves, olfactory bulb, taste buds, eyes, skin and so on. So, we are witnessing cases of Covid-19 patients having fever, cough, breathlessness, sore throat, strokes, lost smell (anosmia)/taste, skin rashes, swollen toes, repeated shivering/shaking with chill, muscle pain (myalgia), headache, pink eyes...
The trick of dealing effectively with highly erratic nature of Corona-19 lies in administering immediately appropriate drugs to remove underlying medical conditions of the patient. Also, give symptoms-specific usual drugs on noticing particular symptoms in the patient.
For asymptomatic patients, use an appropriate combination of usually prescribed medications as discussed in this brief paper.
