Savasana is one of the important Yoga practices which have the ability to offer rejuvenation and relaxation benefits to its practitioners. It is said to be the easiest form of Yoga postures which can be done by anyone to taste the nectar of peace and bliss but when you take it for granted, you’ll find it one of the most difficult activities in Yoga teachings. Though, it is simple but needs much intention and focused mindfulness while doing it and if you can follow the instructions correctly and intentionally, you can have many benefits out of this simple Yoga posture.
Corpse Pose (savasana) is like taking a nap but it is not as easy as you might think about it. Savasana is a very effective Yoga posture which requires total attention to develop complete state of relaxation. It is a conscious relaxation procedure which involves awareness of constantly fluctuating body processes and tensions, allow the stress to be released one by one.
The practitioners of Savasana should understand the nature of this posture and consider few tips listed below to reap maximum out of this simple and effective Yoga posture.
1. Listen to your body and set properly taking every single support and attention needed to be comfortable.
2. Watch your breath and let it to be normal by paying total attention without interfering in its flow.
3. Once you feel your breath returned to its normal state, start scanning your body with full awareness of every activity or processes.
4. Once you experience complete physical relaxation, focus your mind on your forehead or third eye center to avoid wandering of your mind.
5. Do not rush to finish your postures too quickly. Take your time and let the relaxation and peace to lap you completely.
It is simple but not easy Yoga posture, but if done properly and intentionally, it can be much powerful for relax and renew yourself.
