My Yoga tradition/style/center, Yoga practice, Yoga Master/s, Teacher/s
I am close associated/member of the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy (USA and India). The founder of that institute was the late Swami Rama of the Himalayas, who was also a younger brother-disciple of Swami Sivananda. In other words, Swami Rama and Swami Sivananda shared the same Master. The current spiritual head of the Himalayan Institute is a close disciple of Swami Rama.
More about me:
I have been a yoga practitioner for over 25 years but have been teaching yoga only since 2004. Before that I was an avid student of Vedanta, and of Sanskrit. I am now also teaching Sanskrit to beginners - in the hope that those who love chanting and/or use Sanskrit terms become more familiar with its richness of sounds and meaning.
My Favorite Quote/What inspires me:
Satyam Shivam Sundaram - Truth Supreme-Goodness, Beauty: a blessing from Rabindranath Tagore to Swami Rama when the latter visisted him.
Years ago, when I attended an intensive yoga-week, the teacher asked: "why are you here?" My answer was a surprise to me: "to celebrate myself". Only much later I understood: of course, yoga is a celebration of one's inner Self. Always. And as I get older I understand this better.
