Hi what poses would be good to relieve pain as well as which pose would strengthen L5,L4 and S1 vertebra. If anyone has suffered a slipped disc of these vertebra and have done yoga poses that helped heal and strengthen. Will love the advice.

Hazel: I've just been studying this beacause I have the same thing. Are you sure the pain is from the discs and not from the sacro iliac joint ? In all Asana be very careful to keep the pelvic abdominal girdle tight to the body sitting bones tucked in and in standing back bends activate the leg muscles this all helps to protect the lower back. To strenegthen the lower back -Salabasana, the above Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, supine virasana, No forward bending and no sitting cross legged.
