The Island of Bali with its varied landscape of rugged coastlines, terraced rice fields, temples, mountains, and volcanoes and its colorful and deeply spiritual culture and artistic roots will provide a magical backdrop for this very special Yoga Retreat on the "Island of The Gods.”We will spend 7 nights at the Gaia-Oasis Beach Resort on the northern coast of Bali. Accommodations at Gaia consist of Balinese styled bungalows with en-suite baths and individual terraces. While at Gaia, you will enjoy 3 delicious vegetarian (or with fresh fish) meals daily; twice daily yoga instruction; 2 half-day trips to nearby cultural and natural points of interests; a traditional Balinese massage; a Balinese dance performance; and free time to stroll by the sea and watch for dolphins, swim in the ocean or the unique salt water swimming pool, or just relax and do nothing at all.Additionally, we will spend 3 nights in Ubud, the cultural heart of the Island. Accommodations in Ubud will be at the beautiful Arma Resort and include a daily breakfast, yoga classes as time and space permit, and free time for sightseeing, shopping, and the opportunity to experience local art, ceremonies, dance and music.Yoga classes will be lead by Danae Robinett. Danae teaches Hatha Yoga whereby we salute the sun with an energizing and invigorating practice including pranayama and meditation. She also teach Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. In Restorative Yoga the use of props allow for extended holds in asana allowing for true surrender and release. Yin Yoga is a passive/active practice working with the connective tissue holding a posture for 1 to 5 minutes. Yoga Nidra is a guided visualization which is deeply relaxing and highly rejuvenating. Breath is essential in Yoga to support the body as it moves through Asana with grace as well as keeping the body internally heated. In her Yoga classes she fosters a nurturing environment whereby students realize their true potential in the art of trying and taking the risk! What we learn on our mats automatically translates into the other areas of our lives resulting in transformational effects. Her classes are fun yet still honor the sacredness of Yoga…..Barbara Millstein and Henry Abramson will serve as our capable and knowledgeable guides. They have been traveling regularly to Bali for the past 35 years, and now make their home there. Their experience and love for Bali will help to insure our comfort and enjoyment of our trip.Cost: $1850 double occupancy if paid by July 31st ; $1950 thereafter.
