Everyone is capable of practicing yoga and everyone is capable of receiving the amazing
benefits of yoga. Come see for yourself in this 1.5 hour workshop geared towards beginners!
In Yoga Fundamentals you will begin to build the foundation for your yoga practice in order
to gain flexibility, strength, and balance. In this workshop you will explore specific alignment
of asanas (yoga poses) and asana sequences including balancing, standing, seated, core
and spine strengthening, and sun salutations; as well as the relationship of movement and
breath. Yogic breathing, meditation and relaxation techniques will also be introduced, perfect
for stress relief and overall well being. This class is perfect for those just beginning their
practice or those already practicing regularly, but who may want to go back to the basics.
This workshop will help guide you into a complete yoga practice. We will look at and discuss approximately 10 basic yogic poses with detailed directions and practice time. The poses will
be broken down showing proper alignment and techniques. Class will begin with a discussion,
warm-up, posture break-down, relaxation, and final discussion, including any final Q & A.
Bring a mat, water and small towel.
