The Sri Yantra is the mother of all yantras, since the essence of all yantras is derived from it. It is so named because it is able to vanquish all of the evil that arises from anger, desire and other errors. It is conceived as a place of spiritual pilgrimage. It represents the cosmos at the macro-cosmic level and the human body at the micro-cosmic level (each of the circuits correspond to a chakra of the body). Our spiritual journey from the stage of material existence to ultimate enlightenment is mapped on the Sri Yantra.
