Meditation develops a radiant and focused mind, kind heart, and body-centered presence. Both will bring you home to yourself.Join us as we explore movement within the deep layers of the body, practice asana from the vital energy residing within, and access a place of internal refuge that is receptive and transformative. Two daily yoga sessions will incorporate passive Yin poses combined with an active or Yang (flow) practice to help balance our overall well-being while opening the body and enlivening the mind for meditation. As well as being a very meditative practice, the Yin style keeps the body supple while encouraging stagnant chi (prana or life force) to flow throughout the joints, balancing the organ and meridian systems. The Yang (slow flow style) asana practice will encourage ease and grace in a moving meditation. Each class will incorporate pranayama and mindfulness or metta meditation. The Island of Bali with its varied landscape of rugged coastlines, terraced rice fields, temples, mountains, and volcanoes and its colorful and deeply spiritual culture and artistic roots will provide a magical backdrop for this very special Yoga Retreat on the “Island of The Gods.”We will spend 7 nights at the Gaia-Oasis Beach Resort on the northern coast of Bali. Accommodations at Gaia consist of Balinese styled bungalows with en-suite baths and individual terraces. While at Gaia, you will enjoy 3 delicious vegetarian (or with fresh fish) meals daily; twice daily yoga instruction; 2 half-day trips to nearby cultural and natural points of interests; a traditional Balinese massage; a Balinese dance performance; and free time to stroll by the sea and watch for dolphins, swim in the ocean or the unique salt water swimming pool, or just relax and do nothing at all.Additionally, we will spend 3 nights in Ubud, the cultural heart of the Island. Accommodations in Ubud will be at the beautiful Arma Resort and include a daily breakfast, yoga classes as time and space permit, and free time for sightseeing, shopping, and the opportunity to experience local art, ceremonies, dance and music.Classes are from 7-8:30 AM and 5-6:30 PM. On the last day of the retreat in Ubud, one class only from 7:30-8:30 AM.REGISTER with Barbara Millstein at back2bali@gmail.com and see photos of the accomodations here.Everything you want to know about Bali at the Back 2 Bali website
