Regarding Meditation : How is it done - 1) by remaining silent and observing breathe or By chanting Om ?? Pls reply This question was asked on our facebook page and received several answers - do you have any other advice? Jaymie: I remain silent more than saying OM. When I first started and couldn't stop the thoughts I watched them float in front of my closed eyes as if on an airplane banner, just acknowledged them and let them pass and went back to focusing on my breathing....less and less thoughts came until eventually silence. Praveena: vachik when the thoughts are many, upanshu when you can concentrate and then ajapajap is the highest level. Sirisha: silence makes you travel fast to reach he goal...so try to be silent! Sushant: meditation cannot be done it happens... breathing awareness and omkar chanting are means for it Naseem: agree @jaymie... Pradeep: Thanks all especially to Jaymie & Sirisha :-) Danielle: I like your advice, Jaymie. I'll think I'll the airplane banner thing.

  • What I do is that I set the alarm in my mobile phone for 30 min, sit on a pillow cross legged, close my eyes and sit till the alarm rings. Once in the morning and once in the evening.
  • Dear friend,

I generally begin with Om, and then remain a silent observer to what is happening within. I do not participate in whatever is happening, I just remain an observer.

    Soon meditation happens. Calm.....
