What are alternatives to yoga mats

A practical question: Does any one have any advice on non allergy yoga mats? I get allergic reactions from my mat and do not know what to do. One of our facebook friends asked this question and received several replies - what would you advise? Mei: maybe you could get the 100 percent natural rubber mat e.g jade. or you could spread a yoga mat towel over your mat to prevent direct contact Claudia: Maybe it is a reaction from dust, or some cleanser, allergic reactions almost always are not so direct or simply to find ..maybe you need start to test another cleanser ...I suggest a cover 100% cotton, and wash it with neutral soap Jake: Why use a mat? They didn't have mats 100 years ago, and yoga was still thriving. Try using a beach towel that you have washed in the same detergents you use on your clothes instead of a mat.
