Natasha: immense pain inlower back : you have to get rid of the pains first .. doing yoga in painful circumstances is not a good thing .
pain is due mosty to nerve endings ..
these painful circumstances... one has to progress very careful in steps the asanas .and variations .
stiffness is something else but when there is pain you have to be careful..

Shirley: My suggestion for the lower back from Ishan, Long bowing posture (Dhirga Pranama) will help for that.

Lucy: agreed with cobra as number 1 for lower back and bajra asana tops for cervical stifness as this area gets flooded with fresh blood clearing out the causes of cervical stiffness..

Self: try sethu bandasana. Lie on your back. fold ur legs in your knees. Feet apart . Feet and knees on the same width. THen slowly life your hip up. Support your hip with your hands if necessary. hold this for around 3-5 breaths and then release. This will help you relax ur lower spinal chord and releive you from lower back pain.
