Yoga for getting abs or a flat stomach

Can Yoga really work for getting abs or a flat stomach? and what are the sulabh asans which can replace mayurasan and sarvangasan since they are very difficult for beginners it needs flexibility. One of our Facebook friends asked this question and received the following replies. Do you have anything to add to this? Annie: Yoga isn't FOR flattening the stomach. Focusing on a specific body part and the way it looks is the antithesis of yoga. Do your yoga, and you'll be thinner, healthier, but most importantly, you won't care if your stomach is flat... Ira: yes you can get flat stomach by yoga....paduttanasana and boat pose are very good.. H Lucy: with a good teacher both these asanas can be practised by beginners. sarvangasan uses a wall as an aid and gradual use of cushions . mayurasan requires not flexibility but balance. crucial is pranayama in all scenarios. the sign of health in indian tradition is warm feet flexible soft stomach and a cool head all of which can be gained by the practise of pranayama...
