Yoga to remove neck cramps

I have been having neck cramps for about a week. Dr.'s advise is ice to drop the swelling which, in turn, will reduce the pain. Anybody know if there are any asanas that I should avoid until I heal? This question was asked by one of our Facebook friends and received several answers. Do you have any other comments? Niranjan: Bringing your awareness to the neck area, take deep and long Ujjayi breaths. Its like meditating on the pain. Yasmine: Avoid halasana,sarvangasana...u shud do Trikonasana or triangle pose,it relieves you of the pain.Makrasana also relaxes and soothes your neck muscles H Lucy: vajrasana is regarded as the crucial asana for pain in the neck by many. Going into meditation or doing any pranayam and focussing on your higher source with your mantra should be able to dissolve your "pain in the neck" of life.
