Things to Consider Before Choosing a Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh

Hi everyone, I’m Kamal Negi, founder of Rishikesh Yoga Valley. I often meet students who feel confused about how to choose the right Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in Rishikesh, so I’d like to share a few simple tips:

Accreditation

Always check if the school is Yoga Alliance certified so your certificate is globally valid.

Class Size

Smaller groups (like 8–10 students) give more personal attention compared to big batches of 30+.

Style of Yoga

Be clear on whether you want Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, or a blended approach. Each has its own depth.

Accommodation & Food

Since you’ll stay for weeks, a clean, peaceful environment and sattvic food matter more than most realize.

Teachers & Lineage

Research who you’ll be learning from — authentic teachers with experience make all the difference.

At Rishikesh Yoga Valley, we keep our TTCs small, authentic, and rooted in tradition (Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Ayurveda & philosophy). Since 2016, we’ve welcomed students from 50+ countries, and my advice to anyone is:
👉 Don’t just pick by price — choose a place that resonates with your heart and intention.

Hope this helps anyone planning their YTT journey. Feel free to reach out if you want insights about courses or life in Rishikesh.
