Human beings are blessed with five sensory organs and eyes are one among them. The eyes move several times a day to bring the objects in focus. Due to its sharp focus one is able to see the far distant objects and the minute ones like needles. Any error in the functioning of the eye results in vision defects or problems.Listed below are some herbal treatment to keep your eye and eyesight healthy.Eating spinach will help in preventing various eye problems.Carrot juice is a perfect provider of nourishment for healthy eyes, as it is a richest source of vitamin A. This juice can be taken in any amount and at any time.Beet juice provides a good eye care by cleansing the eyes, blood and the whole body.Place a strawberry, kept in the refrigerator for a few minutes, on the eyelids. This will be beneficial in treating tired eyes.Place layers of elder berries and sugar in glass jar and let stand for 3 days outside in the sun. Take 1tsp 3 times a day 15 min before meal for 1-2 months. Repeat 1-2 times a year if needed.Washing the eyes with cold water will give relief from strain and will soothe the eyes.2 tsp of sweet flag roots put in 1 cup of boiling water and steep, covered, for 2 hours. Filter and take ¼ cup 3 times a day 30 min before meal.Take 1 tbsp of fresh onion juice, mixed with equal amount of honey, 2-3 times a dayEvery day wash red, tired and scratchy eyes with strong tea.Apply cucumber or potato juice on the eyes with cotton balls.Yoga to relax the eye‘Palming.’ To rest and relax your eyes, sit comfortably in front of a table, resting your elbows on a stack of cushions high enough to bring your palms easily to your eyes without stooping forward or looking up. Close your eyes and cover them with your cupped palms to exclude light, avoiding pressure on the sockets. Breathe slowly and evenly, relaxing and imagining deep blackness.
