Fantasy Faerytale

I am still working on my esoteric faerytale fantasy, Ifflepinn Island, which a number of non-spiritually inclined hard-nosed childrens' Literary Agents have sniffed at and summarily declined. The wonder appears to escape them. During his adventures, the Moomintroll-style hero, Iffleplum, learns many of the deep secrets of life, which thrills those on the spiritual path, but apparently turns off the worldly-minded agents.

One children's author told me "Unless the word 'spirituality' had a dollar sign in front of it, they wouldn't even look at it."

However, bless the Irish with their poetical and spiritual sensitivity! for one Irish publisher is making very interested noises in the story. He tells me:

"I read the first chapter in bed this morning, and was entranced by the rhythms of the language. Honestly, I got goose-bumps at some of the rhythms this morning while reading. And that was before my cup of tea!"

Hiegh-ho! We may see the book in print yet!

Great news! My prayers are with you.
  • Thanks Saradanandaji,

I had Findhorn in mind, but I was going to wait until I finished the book. However, one of my students who was very taken by the story when I read it last week during my five-day workshop near Glastonbury,pre-empted me by contacting a publisher he knew in Ireland. And the publisher (of a variety of Alice-in-Wonderland books) got in touch immediately and appears to love the story.
