The main purpose of fasting is to give rest to the digestion system. Like to extract adequate work from a machine, its oiling, cleaning and servicing is done and a maintenance day is observed. We work whole day, but if we don’t sleep in the night, we find our body, tired, next day. In the same way by continuous eating, our digestion system gets tired and if it is not given rest, it will stop working smoothly.In the view of naturopathy practitioners and yoga teachers, the main cause of various diseases is stomach. Whatever we eat goes to stomach. Here a juice is formed to liquidate the food. If possible take fruit juice and khichri in the lunch time.The minor diseases of the body can be cured by observing fast, like slight fever, headache, loose motion, stomach pain, cold coughing etc. Take hot or cold water as per your choice.
