Classical Hatha Yoga helps. The combination of breathing exercises (Pranayama), dynamic exercises like Surya Namaskar, static Asanas and deep relaxation is ideal.
The following is especially helpful:

- Backward bends: Use backward bends especially. Concentrate especially on Matsyasana (fish), Bhujangasana (cobra), Anjaneyasana (Crescent moon) etc.
- Pranayama: Kapalabhati, Anuloma Viloma, Bhramari are best. If you know these Pranayamas, you can try out 3 rounds of Kapalabhati, 15-20 minutes of Alternate Nostril Breathing and 10 rounds of Bhramari everyday for about 1 month. Most Asthmatic practicioners feel tremendeous improvement.
- Deep relaxation: This helps body and mind to relax and regenerate
- Diet: Find out whether there are certain food stuffs don't agree with your system. You might consider dairy products, sugar etc.
- Kriyas: Neti, Kunjar Kriya, Basti etc. can be helpful as well
Most important of all these Hatha Yoga exercises is the Pranayama.
