I have been practicing Yoga on and off for a while. Now I am diagnosed having slipped disc. What Yoga can I practice? What should I be careful with? What might even help?

  • It might be helpful if you do a pelvic tilt several times a day:

    Majariasana can be helpful as well, even as a stand-alone practice:

  • It depends on the kind of the problem. If you can move your toes and feet normally and have feeling in the legs you can try out the following:
    - Do strengthening exercises for the abdominal muscles and the back muscles
    - Avoid Forward Bends with straight legs. You might want to avoid the plough altogether
    - Ask a qualified Yoga teacher to advise you...
