What does "Life" mean to a yogi?

Is life a wonderful opportunity for the soul to be one with the supreme?, Is life to be used for self realization? or Is it something else? or is it possible that life means different things to different yogis? It would wonderful to know the views of yogis and members of yoga vidya on this subject. What is life according to a yogi? How would a yogi describe or define life?
