Doctors are warning that all men should now be on the look out for symptoms of prostate cancer. The human prostate is about the size and shape of a walnut.
Last year men were diagnosed with prostate cancer are more in numbers than lung, colon, and brain cancers combined. These are grim statistics, but there’s reason to be optimistic.
Diet and lifestyle modifications have also been shown to reduce the risk of prostate cancer development and progression, and can help men with prostate cancer live longer and better lives.
Cut down on meat
Prostate cancer is a hormone based disease may be strongly linked to the consumption of meat which contains higher levels of hormone-disrupting chemicals. Try to eat meat no more than three times a week. It’s best to eat white meat, and lean cuts of red meat with equal portions of fish.
Move it
Exercise reduces the risk of fatal forms of prostate cancer by 41 percent. The power of exercise, though known to be beneficial in boosting the body’s immune system, is still largely uncertain. What’s more, among survivors of prostate cancer, those who exercised vigorously like playing tennis, running, swimming, or biking had a lower risk of death from the disease.
Give your gland a regular workout
Have lots of sex or start masturbating to prevent prostate cancer. Studies have indeed suggested that masturbation protects against prostate cancer. Actually, it was ejaculation, achieved by either sex or masturbation, that showed benefit. It allows the prostate to clear itself of carcinogens. In other words, masturbation may literally clean your pipes.
Eat more fruit
Eat five to nine daily servings of organic fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat plenty of rich red tomato sauces. Try to include soya in your diet – soya milk, tofu or soya or yoghurts. These are all high in antioxidants, which protect our cells against the damaging effects of free radicals and can help prevent cancers.
Go green
Regularly eating broccoli may lower your risk of prostate cancer and heart disease. It’s likely that compounds found in broccoli, called isothiocyanates, can activate genes that disturb the chemical processes that may cause cancer and inflammation.
