God is pure consciousness. He is omniscient, all-knowing. He is Nirakara, formless or
incorporeal. This physical body has limited our universal consciousness. Consciousness is of
various kinds, viz., physical consciousness, mental consciousness and absolute consciousness.
You will experience the highest consciousness when you transcend the three bodies through
constant and intense meditation. With this physical body and limited senses you can have the
physical consciousness only.

  • With all due respect. I must question this statement* and one more thing. What is Swami Sivananda (1987-1963) or is that a simple mistake by the Author? An idea or the Ideal as in Plato's philosophy may or may not have a physical correspondence. Often the physical correspondence iteration is less than the perfect or potentially perfect idea. We can frame this argument or rather discussion in cultures with words of many historical roots. I like the Chinese Taoism as much as any of them. The Wu Chi (Void) made the Tao (Great Mother) or we can represent it as 0 ---> 1. Then the one made two (Yin and Yang) 0-->1-->2. Then the Two had Three (Yin & Yang -->Li) and then they made 10,000 things (Creation). 0-->1-->2-->3-->4,... The Universal Set.
