Work Out the Right Way

“If you are working out strenuously, you must eat six to eight meals a day,” says Samir Jaura, according to an August 2015 article in The Times of India. Jaura is a celebrity trainer who has worked with the likes of Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukherjee. In an interview to TOI, he stated that he highly recommends the Kinesis Station, which is a weight machine that works only with cables. “This three dimensional machine is as good for strength training as it is for functional training,” according to him. He also went on to express concern that while more and more people were getting into the habit of working out, there was little awareness of the common mistakes that people make in the gym. In the worst case scenario, this could result in severe injuries.

Top 3 Mistakes People Make at the Gym

1.    Incorrect Form: Most people who visit the gym follow one pattern, irrespective of whether it suits their body type. Other than weight machines, which automatically correct the form of the user, posture or form is often overlooked by trainers during strength training. This could be detrimental to the proper development of muscles and could also lead to injury.

2.    Balancing Strength with Cardio: There are many bodybuilders who have bulky biceps but are unable to sustain ten minutes of speed on the treadmill. This goes to show that there is a major flaw in their training. Fitness is not just about looking good on the outside, it is also about building stamina from the inside.

3.    Lack of Warm-ups: Many of the new gym goers head straight to the weight machine, before they have undergone stretching routines. It is essential for the body to warm up before it is put through a hardcore workout so as to prevent injuries.

The good news is that you can choose from a variety of weight training equipment online to achieve your fitness goals.
