I am an expert in the following areas:
With over 19 years of teaching experience and personal practice, I very much enjoy sharing knowledge and information with students. My personal practice and journey into balance from a rotated pelvis and functional scoliosis led me to explore everything from the most gentle, restorative practices - to the most intense and physically demanding. Therefore, my goal is to inspire my students to find their own practice, individualized for their own unique body. Because every body is , I came up with BodyMantra Posture Clinics, which help students to learn how to take virtually any posture, and build it from the most basic, foundational movments. In this way, students often find that postures they once thought impossible can really happen! In 2002, I created a CD titled '108 Surya Namaskar - Solar Powered Sadhana" which include the Bija Sounds and Mantras for each position of Classical Sun Salutations, as well as chakra activation. The body of the CD contains the bijas and mantras, 108 times. There is brief instruction on Surya Namaskar at the beginning of the CD, and the final cut is the Surya Mantra, done by my music teacher Babeena Sharma. So - Surya Namaskar is one of my specialties, and I can modify the practice for practically any need. In addition to Yoga, and I also studied Classical Hindustani Music for 10 years with Babeena Sharma. Devotional chanting and singing has been a mainstay of my practice. I founded Project: Chant! in the Pittsburgh area, which promoted kirtan at many venues including other Yoga studios, churches and colleges. Project: Chant! no longer lives in the Pittsburgh area, and I hope to start it up again here in New Mexico at some point. My greatest kirtan inspiration has been Krishna Das, with whom I have sung many times, and hosted at my former studio. The study of Sanskit has continued throughout 15 or so years, and I got a wonderful foundation through the American Sanskrit Institute. My primary interest is pronounciation and sound vibration, which I have found to be profound healers. More to come....

More about me:
I began my yoga practice with functional scoliosis, a rotated pelvis, and suffering from chronic pain and severe bouts of depression. Through an intense daily practice, I corrected the rotated pelvis, and straightened my spine - thus correcting the scoliosis. To be continued... Also a writer, several of my articles have been published in Point of Light Magazine, and in 2002 I had an article and photos published in Ascent Magazine. More to come...
My Favorite Quote/What inspires me:
"Come to the edge." He said. "We can't - we're afraid!" They Said. "Come to the edge." He Said. "We can't - we'll fall!" They said. "Come to the edge." He said. And they did. And he pushed them. And they flew.
