Cap. 12 Verso 9 del Baghavad Gita : “Mas si no eres capaz de absorber tu mente establemente en mi, entonces, Arjuna, búscame mediante la práctica del yoga (abhya̅sa yoga)” La mente no es capaz de mantenerse en un objeto elegido de meditación retirando de la mente cualquier otra cosa. Aquí abhya̅sa-yoga es el ejercicio que supone una práctica repetida, si la meditación en saguna-Brahma no permite que la mente establemente se centre y se absorba en un objeto de meditación, entonces se debe hacer esta abhya̅sa-yoga, hacer lo mismo una y otra vez, con alerta para ganar la capacidad de contemplar y de una mente relativamente libre de conflictos y aflicciones.
