How wonderful to find a facebook-like interface for the yoga community. The power of the Internet to bring people together is quite miraculous. I have a large local spiritual community in Seattle, but I'm prone to wandering the globe, in and around India mainly, and this site feels like a good way to connect with people on similar spiritual journeys. That is one of my favourite things about traveling in the East. We may not be on the same path, but we are on similar journeys. We've given up our

At the Atma Jyoti Blog, Swami Nirmalananda Giri has begun a commentary on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. This commentary is based not only on his own experience and studies, but on the writings of Vyasa and Shankara, perhaps the most qualified writers on this subject. I. K. All our mental conquests seem nothing compared with That. One can penetrate the secrets of nature; one can understand what science tells us about the first moments of the physical creation. But that is nothing, or almost nothing. One is left speechless when the first glimmerings beyond of mind are present, beyond any doubt. Then, the walker seems to fall into a kind of paralysis that prevents him living the normal life. All the old certainties crumble and the abyss opens before you.You can not go

Kirtan, God in Seed FormChanting gives expression to the soul’s innate yearning for the Divine. Since ancient times, kirtan has been the cornerstone to the devotional schools of Indian religion, combining the artistry and disciplines of traditional music with the transcendent power of mantra

Spiritual Alphabeth

This is one of the nicest and most beautiful uses of the alphabet that I have ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Have a good day!

Fierce winds are bound to blow

God is forever able

Hold on to what you know

Keep thanking Him for all the things

Love imparts to thee

Move out of "Camp Complaining"

One day somebody asked Sri Ramakrishna “What is the greatest wonder?”

Thakur immediately replied, “The life of a sadhu [see definition below]. All – men, devatas, gandharvas, birds, beasts and insects, even trees and creepers, tread one path but the sadhu treads another – just the opposite one, upstream. Everywhere man and woman unite but the sadhu goes alone. Unless one is alone, one cannot attain to Him. Sadhus goes in company for some time – that of the guru – then he has to go alone till th

A CHANGE of this kind, the change from the mental and vital to the spiritual order of life, must necessarily be accomplished in the individual and in a great number of individuals before it can lay any effective hold upon the community. The Spirit in humanity discovers, develops, builds into form in the individual man: it is through the progressive and formative individual that it offers the discovery and the chance of a new self-creation to the mind of the race. For the communal mind holds thin

Hello beautiful souls

How are you today? Feeling good? Whatever you are experiencing... it will pass. Yes, time washes us down this eventful river of life, and the key is to be fully present, as we travel.
