MOTIVE DETERMINES FRUIT

Near Hanuman Ghat in Benares two girls were drowning. Two young men rushed immediately into the Ganges and save them. One man asked one of the girls to marry him; the other said, "l have done my duty. God gave me an opportunity of serving and improving myself." The latter had purity of heart.
The external action was the same in both cases, but the motive was different. The fruit also must therefore be different.
Be righteous always and never deviate from the path of righteousness. Virtue brings it

Develop the power of resistance. Maintain the ideal of pure divine love and active service. Generate positive counter-currents of energy to combat the downward negative currents of desire. Ever remain in a positive state.

VIRTUE AND VICE

That which elevates you is virtue; that which pulls you down is vice or sin. That which takes you to the goal is virtue; that which makes you a worldly man is sin. That which hurls you down into the dark abyss of ignorance is sin.
That which gives you illumination is virtue; that which causes intoxication is sin. That which purifies your heart is virtue; that which taints it is sin. That which gives you peace, joy, satisfaction, exhilaration and expansion of heart is virtue; that which brings res

THE VOW OF AHIMSA

Ahimsa, the rarest of virtues, transmutes a man into Divinity. All the gods and the whole world pay homage to such a man. It is easier to develop the intellect than to develop the heart. The practice of Ahimsa develops the heart in a wonderful manner. God cannot be realized without Ahimsa. It is through the practice of Ahimsa alone that you can cognise and reach the Self. Those with whom Ahimsa is a policy may fail many times, but those who strictly adhere to the vow of Ahimsa as a creed, as a f

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

The man who can see his own faults as he sees those of others will soon become a great soul. Have ceaseless devotion to truth and be ready to sacrifice your all for it.
Do not constantly brood over your past mistakes and failures as this will only fill the mind with grief, regret and depression. Do not repeat them in future. Be cautious. Just think of the causes which led to your failure and try to remove them in future. Be vigilant and careful. Strengthen yourself with new vigour and virtues. De

GLORY OF TRUTH

If five thousand ritualistic sacrifices and truth are weighed on a scale, truth will undoubtedly outweigh the sacrifices. That is the reason why the Sruti says: "Truth alone triumphs but not falsehood". Even Yudhisthira had to visit hell as he once told a lie. He modified and twisted truth in a skillful and dexterous manner.
Aspirants should sincerely endeavor to speak the truth at all times. If they get established in truth, then all the other virtues will cling to them. Brahman is Truth and one

HOW TO DEVELOP BHAKTL

You should have knowledge of God. Then only can you love Him. You should approach saints and Mahatmas and listen to the Lord's glories.
Saints declare that there is an all-merciful, omni-potent, omniscient, omnipresent God. You should study the Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavata, Ramayana and other scriptures. Through Satsang and the hearing of scriptures one gets admiration, attraction, attach¬ment and supreme love for the Lord. You cannot know Him without loving Him. There is love when you perform action

THE HIGHEST STAGE

When the five organs of knowledge, together with the mind, are at rest, and when the intellect ceases to function and becomes still and calm – that is the highest state.
When all the thoughts in the mind subside, when the mind is neither awake nor asleep, when it is motionless like the calm surface of a lake, then the highest Brahmic state of Samadhi is attained.
The Jivanmukta attains destruction of the mind, which leaves behind a slight trace of the ego, but to the Videhamukta there is complete

GLORY OF RAM-NAM

He who is without the sense of "mine"-ness will not be bound by Karmas, whether he dwells in his house or wanders in forests.
Control the elephant of pride with the spear of firmness. Tie it to the post of the Lotus Feet of the Lord with the cord of devotion.
At the time of death, neither education nor titles can help you. It is only the remembrance of the Lord's Name that can help you to get eternal joy. So, always remember the holy Name of Rama.

THE RAREST BLESSING

'There are eighty-four lakhs of creatures. This human birth is attained only after passing through all these lower births. Even men of great erudition waste their time without making enquiry into the nature of the Self in spite of their having obtained this hard-to-attain human birth in a virtuous and good family.
To get a human birth is indeed difficult. It is difficult to have a male body. It is still more difficult to be born a Brahmin. To follow the Vedic path is rare. To be well versed in th

SUPREME DISPASSION

It is common to have dispassion for particular objects through some cause or other, but by having dispassion for all objects at all times one will get knowledge of the Self.
Do not fall a victim to infatuation even if you happen to move in the cities among the young and well-adorned fashionable women. Resolve to attain Self-realization. Then the darkness of infatuation will vanish of its own accord.

MIND--THE WANDERING DEER

The mind is like a deer which has forgotten its real abode. It wanders about in the forest of worldliness. It is bound by the ties of desires and tortured by the tigers of sense-objects.
When will this mind, which has been undergoing endless miseries in countless births, be able to attain eternal happiness? Reflect on this point daily. O mind, leave off your wandering nature at once. Do not think of the opposite sex, food and money.

As most of you are aware that Hindu is a person that follows Hindu religion or Hinduism whereas Hindi is the Language but here I want to stress on the point that these two are inseparable.

Most Hindi learning websites will tell you and teach you that the basic Hindi salutations are , Namaste,Namaskar,Suprabhat, etc but only a true Hindu will tell you that other very common salutations are RamRam, JaiShriKrishna, Om Namah Shivay,Jai Mata Di, HariOm, Jai Gurudev, Jai Maharajji, etc. and the one whic

TRIUMPH OVER THE SENSES

Do not allow your mind to be carried away by fragrant flowers and perfumes, by palatable dishes and delicious fruit, by a shady tree or a bungalow, by the melodious music of birds and instruments. Sit on the floor, meditate on God and conquer the longing for sensual objects. Get triumph over the senses.
The mind wanders by thinking of one's children and wife, or by thinking of one's native place, a river or a mountain. When it thinks of any of these objects, it remains like a man whose hands and

WON'T YOU WOKE UP NOW?

Life is passing away. People are dying. They are all afflicted with various kinds of diseases. And yet you do not try to abandon desire and exert for salvation and eternal bliss.
The body is crippled and the hair has become white. The teeth have fallen and the old man walks, leaning on a stick. Yet he has not abandoned desire. O old man, the moustache has become gray but yon have not abandoned desire. You have now become hunchbacked, but anger has not left you. All the senses have become cold and

HOW TO CONQUER DESIRE

Desire for name and fame, infatuated love for the body and one's family, desire for vast erudition – all these are stumbling blocks on the path of Self-realization. He who desires to extricate himself from this worldly existence should annihilate desire for these things.
When a desire arises in the mind for an object, think of the evils in that object. Think of the pain and suffering that comes with the object. You will then attain dispassion towards that object. Then, if a desire arises to enjoy
